Following another impressive showing for the Philippine Azkals during their 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup campaign, striker Phil Younghusband garnered some praise as he was included in’s Suzuki Cup All-Tournament team.

Younghusband, the Azkals’ primary offensive weapon, helped the squad to a third straight AFF Suzuki Cup semifinals appearance by finding the net twice in the tournament for his 42nd and 43rd international goals.

In the feature, they praised Younghusband’s ability to play in the highest level, as well as his capability to score in cruicial moments.

They also imagined how the star striker would excel playing with fellow AFF stars and All-Tournament team picks such as Thailand’s Chanathip Songkransin and Charyl Chappuis, as well as Vietnam’s Pham Thanh Luong and Malaysia’s Amri Yahyah.

Aside from Younghusband, showed another Azkal some love as they picked out defender Simone Rota as an All-Tournament team substitute.

Rota, who has been solid for the Azkals this year, was lauded by the feature as not being intimidated by the level of talent that he faced during the 2014 AFF tournament.

Other names on the All-Tournament list includes tournament leading scorer Mohd Safiq Rahim and Indira Putra of Malaysia, Tanaboon Kesarat, Kroekit Thaweekarn and goalie Kawin Thamsatchanan from Thailand, and Que Ngoc Hai and Le Cong Vinh from Vietnam.

The chosen coach for this all-star squad is Thailand’s Kiatisuk Senamuang, who led the War Elephants to their fourth AFF championship.
