DLSU's Gelo Diamante (7) will likely miss the rest of the UAAP Season 77 Football tournament due to a broken clavicle
The De La Salle University Green Booters will have to continue their UAAP Season 77 Men's Football campaign without the services of their leading scorer.
According to reports, third-year man Gelo Diamante suffered a broken clavicle early in their first round matchup against University of Santo Tomas last Thursday, January 22. He will be out six to eight weeks, and will likely miss the remainder of the tournament.
Diamante, who scored the opening goal in their 2-1 win over UST, walked off the pitch in the first half and was clearly favoring his left shoulder.
The Ateneo de Davao High School product has been the Green Booters' main man on offense this season, already tallying four goals and helping DLSU to a four win-three draw record, good for second place in the league.
Diamante will be the second player to go down with a major injury this season, as FEU striker and reigning MVP Paolo Bugas suffered a torn ACL and Meniscus during their matchup against University of the Philippines, also last Thursday.
