The 2015 AFC Cup group stages rolls on as Global FC looks to carry their momentum into Myanmar when they face off against home team Yadanarbon FC on Wednesday, March 18.
The Filipino representatives are coming into their third group stage matchup with a ton of confidence after holding Pahang FA to a scoreless draw just a week ago.
“The People’s Club” however, will be undermanned once again going into their third group stage outing as they will be missing the services of injured team captain Misagh Bahadoran and defender Amani Aguinaldo, who was sent off with two yellow cards late during the Pahang FA contest.
“We have left behind players who are struggling with injuries or fitness, but don’t worry, we have our best side out and we have come here to win,” Global coach Dan Padernal said, in an interview with AFC.com.
Currently sitting at third in the group with an all-important away point, Global will now be looking to leave Myanmar victorious against the group’s bottom-dwellers.
In their first two outings, Yadanarbon has suffered defeat at the hands of Pahang FA and South China FC. The reigning Myanmar National League champions are also gunning for their first AFC Cup win.
South China FC currently leads Group G with two wins and six points, while Pahang FA is at second with one win, one draw, and four points.
