Major League Soccer, the US-based professional football league could have another big name under their banner in the near future as Real Madrid striker and international football star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly eying a move stateside in 2018.

According to Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated, multiple sources have stated that Ronaldo’s current plan is to transfer to the American football promotion once his contract with club Real Madrid expires, and it could come as early as 2018.

Grant also stated that the three time Balon D’or winner is reportedly interested in suiting up for big name cities such as Miami, New York, and Los Angeles.

Should the Portugese football sensation indeed decide to switch to the MLS, he will be following in the footsteps of other big name stars such as David Beckham, Thierry Henry, and Steven Gerrard as international players who have decided to take their talents to the American league.

Already considered as one of the best football players alive today, Ronaldo would definitely be a huge acquisition for any American football club.
