“As long as you take care of your body, age does not matter”
This is what the 28-year-old Filipino-Iranian Azkals winger Misagh Bahadoran said about his desire to play football as long as he can, jokingly saying that he would like “to play football for 100 days”.
Born and raised in Pampanga, the CEU dentistry graduate joined the Azkals in 2011 after completing his degree. In addition to being part of the Azkals, Bahadoran is also a member of Global FC, playing forward for the club.
In spite of suffering multiple injuries due to his position, ranging from sprains to muscle tears, he notes that he always tries his best to take care of his body to ensure that he is 100% in every football match.
Asked about his preparation for a football match, Bahadoran emphasized the importance of peace of mind, in addition to having enough sleep and taking supplements and good food. “Athletes should have peace of mind . . . 80% is mind and 20% is everything else,” he adds.
Bahadoran adds that vitamins and supplements he takes regularly, such as USANA Coquinone, are important to improve endurance, strengthen muscles, and provide additional protection for his hair and skin.
While he is aware that he can’t play the sport as long as he wants to, Bahadoran noted that he plans to be a coach or trainer, or pursue his dentistry career when he retires from football. - Duey T. Guison
