The Gunners earned a record 12th FA Cup win as they cruised to a 4-0 win over Aston Villa, Saturday at the Wembley Stadium in London.
It wasn’t until five minutes before halftime that a conversion was made, as Arsenal’s Theo Walcott blasted one in from the left corner to give the defending champions a 1-0 advantage at the break.
Five minutes into the second half, Alexis Sanchez doubled Arsenal’s lead with a straight shot from outside the penalty box. Per Mertesacker followed that up in the 62nd mark with a quick header from a corner pass, leaving Aston Villa keeper Shay Given unable to respond and giving Arsenal a 3-0 lead.
The final blow came from sub Oliver Giroud, who tipped the ball into the net from an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain assist to ice the match three minutes into injury time.
Arsenal defeated Hull City, Brighton, Middlesbrough, Manchester United, and Reading on their way to the final, and will face Premier League winners Chelsea in the 2015 FA Community Shield.
