For the past couple of years, the Philippine Azkals have been wearing these kits to their international matches.
And while these kits are in no way bad looking, it was time to change things up, given that these boys are heading to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
With a retooled lineup, it was only fitting that they get new unis as well, and so they did.
Last Wednesday, June 3, at Sparta Philippines, the Philippine Azkals debuted their brand-spanking new kits, and they were pretty sweet.
What’s more, the brand that made the kits, LGR, is a home-grown Filipino brand that has been in the sportswear production industry for years now.
So when the Azkals take to the pitch for the World Cup qualifiers starting June 11, they’ll be wearing a Pinoy brand as they represent the country on their journey towards the biggest football stage in the world.
Keep posted for a deeper look into the intricacies behind the Azkals’ new kits, as well as an interview with LGR’s own Rhayan Cruz in the inspiration behind the designs.
