The Philippine national football team went through a little revamping, heading into their international friendly against Maldives on September 3 and their World Cup Qualifiers match against Uzbekistan on September 8, as announced by the Philippine Football Federation on their official website.
Gone from the lineup is former long-time captain Rob Gier, who earlier announced his absence due to an injury that required surgery, as well as Global FC standout Mark Hartmann and keeper Tomas Trigo.
There won’t be any shortage of goal defenders however, as taking two keepers will be coming in to take Trigo’s place in Fil-German Azkals veteran Roland Muller and young Jun Badelic of Global FC. Also making his return for the country’s colors is Dutch-Filipino midfielder Paul Mulders.
Stephan Schrock, who was injured early in the Bahrain match and was unable to join the team against Yemen, is also listed in the 23-man roster.
