After two rounds of chemotherapy, Rogie Maglinas has regained his ability to smell and his sight in his right eye
After going through two rounds of chemotherapy, things are starting to look up for UP Football scholar Rogie Maglinas!
The 19-year old was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that attacks the muscle tissue, but after over three weeks in the Philippine General Hospital, Rogie was cleared to undergo chemotherapy, and has been discharged from the hospital after two sessions, but will have to come back for a third round.
According to Rogie, he has regained his ability to smell and sight has returned to his right eye, but his left one still remains unable to see.
“Nung pag-gising ko, nakakita ako ng liwanag tapos nag-basa agad ako ng libro, nag-Facebook, at nag-text. Na-excite talaga ako nun.”
Rogie says that the support and prayers from his family, friends, and teammates have been a huge help.
Just like that, Rogie’s world has turned around. From being the team’s fastest runner and being on his way to graduating, he’s now fighting for his health. Still, the young footballer is filled with hope and believes that he will be able to pull through thanks to the strength and the love of God.
Even though Rogie is slowly getting better, he still needs our help!
