The accolades just keep coming for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The 28-year old Argentinian wonder added some more new hardware to his collection, Monday, when he was honored as the Best Player and the Best Forward for the 2014-2015 Spanish La Liga season, beating out rival and Real Madrid Star Cristiano Ronaldo.
During the 2014-2015 season, Messi helped Barcelona all the way to the title, knocking in 43 goals in 38 matches, as well as tallying 21 assists.
Messi claims his sixth Best Player honor since the inception of the LFP Awards in 2008. He also took home Best Forward honors.
Ronaldo didn’t go without recognition though, as the Real Madrid star was the season’s top goal scorer, converting 48 goals in 35 matches to claim his second straight Pichichi Trophy, his third in the last five years. He also took home the LFP’s Jugador Cinco Estrellas de la Afición.
Other LFP awardees include Luis Enrique (Barcelona) for Best Coach, Claudio Bravo (Barcelona) for Best Goalkeeper, Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) for Best Defender, James Rodrigues (Real Madrid) for Best Midfielder, Neymar (Barcelona) for Best Player from the Americas, and Sofiane Feghouli (Valencia) for Best African Player.
