Arnel Amita was one of the FEU Tamaraws' top gunners during their title run in Season 77
Defending UAAP Men's Football champions FEU Tamaraws may be heading into Season 78 without one of their main guns as star midfielder Arnel Amita reportedly suffered an ACL injury, as confirmed by teammate and former UAAP MVP Paolo Bugas.
According to Bugas, Amita's status for Season 78 is still up in the air, as the team is still seeking a second opinion, but the fourth year Tamaraw will likely miss a big part of the season, with opening day just over a week away.
Affectionately nicknamed "Nano" due to his size. Amita was a huge part in the Tamaraws' title run last season, as he was among the team and the league's leading goal scorers and starred in their semifinals match against UP.
Bugas, who is hopes that Amita will still be able to suit up in Season 78, was in a similar position last year, as he suffered an ACL tear during the last game of the first round. Bugas was sidelined for most of the second round, but came back just in time for the semifinals.
We'll have more on this situation as it develops.
