LONDON, England (AP) — Cristiano Ronaldo led the way at the summit of the Associated Press Global Football 10 on Tuesday, after scoring a hat trick in Real Madrid's resounding 6-0 win against Espanyol.
He edged Robert Lewandowski to the top of the player vote, after the Bayern Munich striker scored both goals in his team's 2-0 win against Hoffenheim.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has eight goals in two games against Espanyol this season and has to be disappointed there are not any more games against them on the schedule," Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in the United States said.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was third, after guiding the runaway leader in the French league to a 2-0 victory against Saint-Etienne.
"Zlatan Ibrahimovic's impressive form continued with a double to lead PSG to a 2-0 win away at Saint-Etienne," Jonathan Johnson of beIN Sports USA in France said. "The super Swede now has 19 goals and six assists from 18 Ligue 1 appearances."
Lionel Messi was fourth after scoring Barcelona's first goal in its 2-1 win against title rival Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league.
Alvaro Morata takes fifth for scoring four goals in two games for Juventus last week.
Luis Suarez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Oscar, Kelechi Iheanacho and Jose Callejon round out the top 10 players of the week.
Barcelona took team of the week honors after its comeback 2-1 win against Atletico moved it three points clear atop the Spanish league, replacing Diego Simeone's side with a game in hand.
Juventus is runner up for two victories in a week against Inter Milan (3-0) in the Coppa Italia, and Chievo (4-0) in Serie A.
Madrid is third after its Ronaldo-inspired victory over Espanyol, while PSG takes fourth after the efforts of Ibrahimovic.
