The UP Women's Football team are honoring their fellow player Rogie Maglinas with special shirts for the new UAAP season.
They will have "For Rogie" printed at the back of their uniforms as a tribute to Maglinas, the 19-year-old UP scholar who lost his battle to cancer earlier this week.
Thank you for teaching us the real meaning of hard work & persistence, Rog. We will never forget the many times you joined our training and whooped our asses with your lightning quick speed and picture perfect crosses. We will forever be grateful for the times you would be more than willing to give any of us a crash course on how to kick a long ball. Your relentless fortitude to continue improving has served as an inspiration for so many of us but we take comfort in the fact that you are finally resting. Guess you'll be watching us from heaven now. This one's for you, buddy. Rest in peace.
Daisuke Sato of the Philippine Azkals likewise gave his tribute to the fallen player.
I & Rogie will never forget what we talked about.Someday I'll make all my dreams come true for you brother!RIP Rogie pic.twitter.com/jYNvdsFeii— Daisuke Sato (@daisukesato11) February 2, 2016
