Makati City-based Pinoy football club and reigning UFL Cup champions Kaya FC begins a two-game 2016 AFC Cup home stand when they take on Maldives’ New Radiant SC, Tuesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The Pinoy club looks to bounce back after falling to home team Kitchee SC in Hong Kong last February 23. The tightly contested matchup saw Kitchee come away with the 1-0 win after Rufino del Burgo converted on a 69th minute penalty.

Former Azkal Aly Borromeo and current national team member OJ Porteria both had a couple of good chances for the Pinoy side, but ultimately couldn’t score one. They’ll look to finally get on the boards in front of a hometown crowd on Tuesday.

Looking to pick up an important road win will be reigning Divhehi Premiere League champions New Radiant SC, led by Ali Fashir and Ashad Ali, who both also represent the Maldivian national team.

New Radiant will be coming off a 2-2 draw at home against Singapore’s Balestier Khalsa, with Izzath Abdul Baree and Rilwan Waheed scoring for the Maldivian champions.

A win for the Pinoy champions will be huge, as they won’t have much time to prepare for their next challenge on the 15th of March against Balestier Khalsa, also at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Kaya currently sits at the bottom of the Group F standings with one loss, while New Radiant sits tied at second with Balestier Khalsa with one draw and one point apiece, while at the top spot is Kitchee, with one win and three points.
