Adrian Gallardo picked up where he left off in Bacolod, scoring twice to lead reigning UFL champions Ceres-La Salle FC past Bangladesh’s Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, 2-0, Tuesday evening in Dhaka Bangladesh for their first win in the 2016 AFC Cup.

After scoring the huge last-minute equalizer against Selangor in Bacolod a couple of weeks ago, Gallardo was an offensive presence once again, as he gave Ceres an early 1-0 advantage 25 minutes into the matchup.

Gallardo would strike again in the 29th minute to give the visiting Filipino side a comfortable 2-0 advantage that would eventually be enough to seal the win and earn the valuable three points.

The win secures a solo-second place spot in Group E for Ceres- La Salle with one win and one draw for four points, behind Singapore’s Tampines Rovers, who improved to two wins for six points after taking down Selangor.

Sheikh Jamal, who went through a 4-0 beating in their first outing, drops to two losses, behind Selangor’s one draw and one loss for one point.

The Bacolod-based booters head to Singapore next, to challenge the tough Tampines team, who has yet to be threatened in the 2016 AFC Cup.
