PFF announces Azkals training pool for upcoming WCQ matches
It's back to work for the Philippine Azkals as they gear up for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers matches this month

On Monday, The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) revealed the list of players selected for the national team training pool for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches against Uzbekistan and North Korea later this month.

Training for the World Cup Qualifiers began on March 14, and Azkals head coach Thomas Dooley selected the following players to be part of the pool:

  • Amani Aguinaldo
  • Fitch Arboleda
  • Jorrel Aristorenas
  • Jovin Bedic
  • Kou Ichi Belgira
  • Marco Casambre
  • Mario Clarino
  • Dominic Del Rosario
  • Patrick Deyto
  • Jim Flores
  • Omid Nazari
  • Javier Patino
  • Simone Rota
  • Daisuke Sato
  • Jay Soberano
  • Tomas Trigo
  • Dennis Villanueva
  • Mark Winhoffer
  • Phil Younghusband

Dooley also selected collegiate standouts Paolo Bugas from Far Eastern University and skipper Daniel Gadia from UP.

The following names will be joining the national team training pool on March 19th:

  • Kenshiro Daniels
  • Juani Guirado
  • Kevin Ingreso
  • Paul Mulders
  • OJ Porteria
  • Patrick Reichelt
  • Stephan Schrock
  • Martin Steuble

Selected international-based players include:

  • Neil Etheridge
  • Jerry Lucena
  • Roland Muller
  • Stephan Palla
  • Iain Ramsay
  • Luke Woodland

A couple of notable omissions from the training pool are Misagh Bahadoran and Manny Ott, who will both be serving suspensions for accumulated yellow cards.

The 23 players selected to the final lineup will head to Tashkent, Uzbekistan on March 20th, in time for their match against the Uzbekistan national team on the 24th.
