Antonio Ugarte (8), OJ Porteria (10) and the rest of KAYA FC are looking to get past Balestier Khalsa once again
Philippine-based Group F leaders KAYA FC are looking to maintain hold of their spot in the top of the standings as they head into enemy territory to take on revenge-minded Balestier Khalsa, Tuesday evening at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
After losing their opening match to Hong Kong’s Kitchee, KAYA FC has been impressive to say the least, claiming back-to-back wins, both exciting affairs at home. The two-game streak was enough to propel the Makati-based club to the top of the standings with two wins and one loss for six points.
Looking to overtake the Pinoy side however, are Singapore’s Balestier Khalsa, who are only two points behind.
Aside from possibly seizing the top spot in the standings, Balestier Khalsa will also be motivated by revenge, as they fell short in the two teams’ first round matchup, courtesy of an early second-half conversion from Antonio Ugarte.
It’s going be a crucial stretch for the UFL Cup champions, as they will want to hold on to their top seed to be able to advance into the knockout stage.
