The Bacolod-based Ceres-La Salle squad looks to stay on top Group E in the 2016 AFC Cup Knockout Stages
Former UFL Champions Ceres-La Salle will try to stay at the top of Group E when they take on home-team Selangor FA, Tuesday evening at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium in Selayang, Malaysia.
The only unbeaten team in Group E, Bacolod-based Ceres La Salle began their AFC Cup campaign with a comeback draw at home against Selangor, and has since survived every challenge put in front of them, putting them at the top of the group.
Spanish striker Adrian Gallardo has been the main man for the former UFL champs in their AFC campaign, having scored in every match for the Pinoy side so far.
In their most recent outing, Ceres-La Salle scored a dominant 2-1 win over Singapore powerhouse Tampines Rovers in Bacolod, thanks to penalty conversions from Gallardo and Bienvenido Maranon.
With two wins and two draws for eight tournament points, another three points for Ceres-La Salle would be a huge step in securing a spot in the Knockout Stage.
