5 SPOTS DOWN. The Philippines drops to 120th in the latest FIFA World Rankings
The Philippine Men's National Football Team dropped fives spots down to 120th place in the most recent FIFA World Rankings, released Thursday, June 2.
This comes after the Philippines climbed to 115th in the world, their highest ranking in history.
Since defeating North Korea to wrap up their World Cup Qualifiers campaign earlier this year, the Azkals have been inactive, but are gearing up for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup, which the Philippines will be hosting, later this year.
With the drop, the Thailand, ranked 117th, overtakes the Philippines as the top-ranked ASEAN football nation.
Iran (39th), Korea Republic (50th), Japan (53rd) and Australia (59th) remain the top-seeds in the Asian Football Confederation.
Worldwide, Argentina and Belgium remain at first and second respectively, while Colombia and Germany both move up a spot to third and fourth.
