Manny Ott (8) and Stephan Schrock (11) led the way for Ceres-La Salle as they took the first leg of the Singapore Cup Quarterfinals against Brunei DPMM
Fil-German midfielder Stephan Schock scored his second brace in as many games, as he helped Filipino football club Ceres-La Salle FC blast past Brunei DPMM, 3-0, in the first leg of the 2016 RHB Singapore Cup Quarterfinals, Thursday evening at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
Fellow Philippine national team standout Manny Ott struck first for the 2015 UFL Champions, finding his mark in the 15th minute, but it was Schrock who took over from that point on.
Eleven minutes after the opening conversion, Schrock added one of his own to double the Ceres-La Salle advantage.
Midway through the second half, Schrocky sealed the deal, hitting another in the 72nd minute to make it a comfortable three-goal lead.
Ceres-La Salle heads into the second leg with tons of momentum, and not to mention a valuable three-goal cushion as they try to push for a semifinals berth.
Schrock, who’s recorded four goals in two matches, is the tournament’s leading scorer so far.
The second leg between Ceres-La Salle and Brunei DPMM is set for Sunday, July 3, also at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
The other Pinoy club in the Singapore Cup, Global FC, fell to Tampines Rovers, 3-1, a day earlier.
