Following a tough loss to South Korea last Saturday, the Philippine Under-16 Women's national team bounced back in a big way, defeating Malaysia, 5-0, Monday afternoon at the Luneng Football School in Weifang, China.
Denise Graellos finished the match with a brace, scoring the Philippines' opening goal in the seventh minute, as well as their final goal in the 78th minute.
Tejanee Isulat, Caitlin Levasseur, and Isabella Mahoney all chipped in, scoring a goal each to help the Philippine side finish the group stages on a high note.
While the Philippines finishes with three wins and nine points in four games played, they are likely elminated from the tournament, with South Korea and India set to play the final match in Group B.
Should Korea win, force a draw, or lose by less than 26 goals, they advance to the next round.
Should India manage to defeat South Korea by more than 26 goals, they advance due to goal difference.
