""I dedicated my goal to you, dad." - Misagh Bahadoran
Fil-Iranian forward Misagh Bahadoran has somewhat established himself as an offensive option for the Philippine Azkals as of late.
Starting from their World Cup Qualifiers run last year, Bahadoran has more often than not contributed to the Philippine Azkals' victories, and during Wednesday's international friendly against visitng Kyrgyztan, he made his presence felt once again.
After a rather uneventful first half, Bahadoran was one of three substitutes to enter the game in the second half and ultimately jumpstart the Azkals' offense.
in the 65th minute, Bahadoran, who had scored during the Azkals' 2-1 win over the very same team just a few months prior, made the Kyrgyz defensive line pay once again, finding the back of the net and eventually propelling the Azkals to a 1-0 win.
Following the goal, Bahadoran raised both arms in the air, as if giving thanks, which is a usual celebration among athletes. Bahadoran somewhat explained his gesture on his Instagram account:
"Thank u baba" the post read.
On an earlier post, Bahadoran congratulated his teammates on the win, and said that he dedicated the game-winning goal to his late father, who passed away just three weeks ago.
"I dedicated my goal to you, dad. I know u were watching and guiding me up there in heaven love u baba " Bahadoran said on the post.
Bahadoran and the rest of the Philippine Azkals will begin their AFF Suzuki Cup journey on November 19th, when they take on Singapore at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan.
