Global wins, Ceres-Negros gets draw in 2017 AFC Cup openers

Global FC team captain Misagh Bahadoran scored the only goal to help his club beat Myanmar's Magwe FC, 1-0 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Tuesday night.
Skipper Misagh Bahadoran stepped up once again, like he's done on the international stage on multiple occasions, to push Global FC past Myanmar's Magwe FC, 1-0, in their 2017 AFC Cup Group Stage opener, Tuesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The Fil-Iranian forward and national team mainstay helped the Pinoy club end the first half on a high note, scoring in the 39th minute.
The visiting Magwe side couldn't come up with an equalizer in the second half of play, giving Global their first win of the tournament.
Global earns their first win and three points in Group F.
Up next for the last UFL champs will be a trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on March 7th for a matchup against Beoungket Angkor FC.
Over at Hanoi, Ceres-Negros FC went to 1-1 draw with home team Hanoi FC.
Spanish winger Bienvenido Marañon hit the opening goal for the Pinoy side in the 49th minute, but the home team found the equalizer eight minutes later, courtesy of Nguyen Van Quyet.
Ceres-Negros and Hanoi FC share points as they open action in Group G of the 2017 AFC Cup.
Up next for the Bacolod-based squad is a matchup against Singapore's Tampines Rovers on March 7th at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod.
