Neither the Azkals nor Malaysia could get their chances to go in, Wednesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The streak continues.
For the fifth time in as many matches, the Philippine Azkals figured in a stalemate against the Malaysian national team, this time in a scoreless draw, Wednesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The home side managed a number of decent chances early, but couldn't convert. The visitors were just as fortunate as they headed into the midgame break with clean sheets.
The Azkals came out a bit more aggressive in the second frame, displaying better ball movement, resulting in better chances, but still couldnt get the ball to cross the visitors' goal line.
Substitute Fitch Johnson Arboleda had one of the better chances of the match late in the second half, but his shot just couldn't hit the target.
After 90 minutes plus injury time, the Azkals and Malaysia settled for the scorless draw.
See what Azkals head coach Thomas Dooley and goalkeeper Neil Etheridge had to say after the match.
