The PH U15 girls fell short to Thailand in the AFF U15 Girls Championship final
The Philippine under-15 girls national team settled for a runner-up finish after falling to Thailand 2-6, in the AFF U15 Girls Championship final, Saturday evening in Vientiane, Laos.
The Thai girls started strong right from the get go, with Ploychompoo Sommonk hitting first in the 12-minute mark.
The Filipinas responded five minutes later, with Myria Garcia finding the equalizer.
Ploychompoo broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, while Trinity Parascandola helped double the Thai lead 30 minutes into the match, sending them into the halftime break with a 3-1 lead.
Viviana Cera opened the second half by pulling one back for the Philippines in the 42nd minute, giving the Pinay side some life.
It would be all Thailand after however, as Pattarana Aupachai added to the lead in the 59th minute, followed by an own goal from Pinay Keanne Dedel and a final conversion from Janista Jinantuya.
It was an impressive run for the Pinay U15 girls, going unbeaten in the group stages, mounting a dramatic comeback in the semis, and then bringing the fight to Thailand in the Final.
