Azkals set for International Friendly in Guangzhou, China

The Philippine Azkals will be headed to Guangzhou for an International Friendly in June
The Philippine Men’s National Team is scheduled to face the national team of China PR on June 7th.
Philippine Football Federation general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes announced last May 22 the details of the friendly which will be played in Guangzhou, China. The friendly will be the first meeting between the Philippines and China PR since the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers back in 2000, with China PR emerging victorious, 8-0.
“We will have an international friendly between China PR and Philippines on June 7th” said Gastanes. “We will now talk to the PFL clubs to explore the possibility of release of players for national team duties earlier than June 5, 2017.”
The match will serve as build up for the Philippines’ AFC Asian Cup Jordan 2019 Qualifiers match against Tajikistan which will be held on June 13th in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The Philippines’ current rank is at 127th while China PR is at 81st.
The list of players called up for the forthcoming matches will be announced shortly.
