The Younghusband brothers Phil and James came up big Tuesday evening as they helped the Philippine Azkals remain unbeaten, holding Yemen to a 2-2 draw in their 2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers third round matchup, Tuesday evening at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod.
Mudir Al-Radaei opened the scoring for the visitors with a 26th minute conversion, but Azkals skipper Phil Younghusband didn't take too long to respond, hitting the equalizer via a perfectly-placed free kick three minutes later.
The Yemeni side took control again in the early moments of the second half, with Abdulwasea Al-Matari giving the visitors back the lead in the 54th minute.
In the 71-minute mark, another Younghusband would find an all-important equalizer via a well-recieved header from Manny Ott free kick to level the match at 2-2.
James' conversion would prove to be the Azkals' saving grace, as they managed to hold on to the draw and survive the tough Yemeni test with their unbeaten record intact.
The Azkals remain at the top of Group F with two wins and one draw for seven points.
Yemen on the other hand remains at second with five points.
The two squads will cross paths once again when in a little over a month's time, as they meet in Qatar on October 10th.
