After a smashing opening day win against Laos, the Philippine Azkals absorbed a 3-0 loss against hosts Chinese-Taipei in day two of the CTFA International Tournament, Sunday afternoon at the Municipal Stadium.
Headers proved to be the Azkals' poison for this match, as all of the home team's conversions came via well-timed headers.
Striker Mao Li was the first to score, finding the back of the net in the 38th minute via a header from a Chih-Hao Wen free kick.
In the second half, Mao Li picked up where he left off, doubling the Chinese-Taipei lead with another header from a right-side cross in the 62nd minute.
Ting-Yang Chen put the finishing touches on the three-nil outing with another header, this time from a corner throw from the left side.
The Philippine side will have a chance to bounce back and end their CTFA tourney on a high note when they take on Timor-Leste on Tuesday, December 5th at 4:00 p.m.
