The Philippine Azkals closed out their Chinese-Taipei Football Association (CTFA) International Tournament campaign with a 1-0 loss to Timor-Leste, Tuesday afternoon at the Taipei Stadium.
Just days after a 3-0 loss to hosts Chinese-Taipei, the Pinoy side looked to end their trip on a high note.
It was a tightly-contested match, with neither side able to break the deadlock up until the final minute of the match.
With a possible draw looming, Timor-Leste managed to find the back of the net after substitute Da Silva Garcia Silverio Da Resurecio blasted through the Azkals defense, beating out three defenders before firing off the would-be game winner right through Pinoy keeper RJ Joyel.
With three minutes of injury time added, the Azkals tried to get one back but ultimately couldn't come up with an equalizer.
The Azkals go 1-2 in the CTFA International Tourney, which served as a way for younger call-ups to gain international experience.
