Arellano out to sweep, CSB out to survive in NCAA Season 93 men's football action.
Arellano University will be looking for a sweep and a second men's football title, while College of Saint Benilde will try to keep their title hopes alive when the two sides collide once again in match two of the NCAA Season 93 Men's Football finals, Monday evening at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Their exciting first finals match AU and CSB trade goals in the first 45 minutes of action, leading to a quick 2-2 scoreline.
A goalless second half however, forced the game into extra time.
With three minutes left in the additional period, fourth-year Chief Jumbel Guinabang came up with the go-ahead goal, his second conversion of the match, to end with a brace and give Arellano the win.
The Chiefs enjoy a one match lead and could be just 90 minutes of football action away from another NCAA men's football crown, their second in three years.
The Blazers on the other hand, will try to force a deciding match as they try to end a seven-year title drought.
Kick off time will be at 6:00 PM.
In the juniors division, defending champions San Beda College are also just one win away from back to back titles and will be looking to close things out against La Salle Greenhills in match two of the juniors football finale on Monday afternoon, also at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
While it was LSGH who took the early lead in the first match, a second-half blitz from San Beda which saw senior Jimmar Castillo score twice in a span of seven minutes ultimately led to the Red Cubs getting the W.
San Beda will have to find another source of offense however, as Castillo will be sitting match two out after getting booked for a red card in match one.
The Red Cubs are gunning for their 17th juniors football crown.
Kick off time will be at 4:00 PM.
