The Philippine Women's National Football team opened the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers with a bang after demolishing Singapore, 9-0 at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan, Sunday afternoon Manila time.
The Philippine side was off to a scorching start after scoring twice in just the first five minutes of the match, courtesy of UST star Shelah Cadag.
They never looked back as they ended the half with a commanding 5-0 advantage, with Alesa Dolino scoring in the 27th minute, Hali Long scoring in the 32nd minute, and Cadag scoring a third goal in the 43rd minute to complete the hat trick.
In the second half, the Philippines picked up where they left off as they made it a 6-0 lead in the 52nd minute thanks to DLSU's Irish Navaja.
Fellow La Sallian Sara Castañeda joined the scoring party in the 57th minute followed by Long who doubled up two minutes later for the 8-0 tally.
