The Philippine Women's National Football team improved to 2-0 in the 2020 Women's Olympic Qualifiers after downing host nation Tajikistan, 3-1 at the Hisor Central Stadium, Thursday evening, Manila time. 

Picking up from where she left off in their first match against Singapore, striker Shelah Cadag again opened the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute. 

In the second half, it was Sara Castañeda who stole the show as she doubled the lead in the 50th minute, and then put the game on ice with a penalty conversion in the 76th minute. 

With two wins in their first two matches, the Philippines shares the top spot with Chinese Taipei, both with six points.

Up next for the Philippines is a matchup with Group A cellar-dwellers Mongolia on November 11th before they close out the first round against Chinese Taipei on November 13th.
