Bienve Marañon and Ceres Negros are back in the AFC Cup
A pair of champion Filipino football clubs will be representing the tri-color in the upcoming 2019 AFC Cup which begins on February 5th.
PFL champions Ceres Negros FC will be making their fifth AFC Cup appearance in the 2019 edition of the tournament after reaching the ASEAN Zonal Finals, losing to Singapore-based club Home United 3-1 on aggregate.
The Bacolod-based club was drawn in Group G, alongside Vietnam's Becamex Bình Dương, Myanmar's Shan United, and a yet-to-be-determined Indonesian club.
Ceres is coming of their second-consecutive Philippines Football League (PFL) championship.
Since Ceres Negros will also be participating in the 2019 AFC Champions League, 2018 PFL 3rd Placers Davao Aguilas will be on standby.
If Ceres Negros makes it into the 2019 AFC Champions League Group Stage, Davao will take their place in the 2019 AFC Cup.
Also earning a place in the 2019 AFC Cup Group Stage is Kaya-Iloilo FC.
Making just their second appearance in the tournament, Kaya-Iloilo earned their spot by capturing the 2018 Copa Paulino Alcantara championship, as well as finishing as runners-up in the 2018 PFL tournament.
The Iloilo-based side was drawn in Group H alongside Singapore's Home United, Lao Toyota of Laos, and a yet-to-be-determined Indonesian side.
Ceres Negros and Kaya-Iloilo kick off their 2019 AFC Cup campaigns in March.
