Ceres Negros falls to Yangon United in AFC Champions League prelims

Filipino football club Ceres Negros FC fell short in their bid to secure a spot in the AFC Champions league after falling to Yangon United, 2-1, in the preliminary round, Tuesday evening at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod.
The visiting side struck early courtesy of a Vinicius de Oliveira free kick in the 28th minute.
Stephan Schrock answered back late in the first half, pulling the home team even in the 44th minute.
It didn't take too long for the visitors to regain the lead, as Kaung Htet Soe found the back of the net in the 58th minute.
The Filipino side could not muster another equalizer at the end of 90 minutes as Yangon United escaped with the win on the road.
With the loss, Ceres Negros bows out of the 2019 AFC Champions Cup tournament.
Yangon United meanwhile improves to round two of the preliminaries.
