Football: Philippine Azkals drop seven spots in FIFA World Rankings

The Philippines dropped seven spots in the most recent FIFA World Football Rankings, released last Thursday, February 7th.
From a world ranking of 116th in the world, the Philippine Azkals dropped to 123rd in the world.
The significant drop comes after the Azkals completed their historic first-ever AFC Asian Cup tournament, wherein they finished last in Group A, with three losses in three matches.
The Azkals now find themselves as the third-best football nation in Southeast Asia, behind 99th ranked Vietnam and 115th-ranked Thailand.
Speaking of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup first-time champions Qatar surged up the rankings, shooting up 38 spots to 55th in the world and the 5th best football nation in Asia.
Asian Cup runners-up Japan was also a big mover as they improved to 27th in the world, 23 spots up. They now sit behind IR Iran as the second-best football nation in Asia.
Belgium keeps their hold on the top spot in the world, followed by France, Brazil, Croatia, and England.
Rounding out the top ten are Portugal, Uruguay, Switzerland, Spain, and Denmark.
