Muntinlupa City (22 March 2019) - The 2019 Speed Regalo Youth Football League (YFL) will formally kick off its league tournament on March 31 at the Ayala Alabang Country Club.

With 20 club teams fielding in squads in multiple age bracket competitions, the 2019-season opening tournament of the YFL is something enthusiasts can all look forward to.

“I think most of the club members are all quite excited to start YFL season 2019. We have a lot more teams this year and a lot more kids involved, so I hope we can deliver the kind of competition level everyone is expecting, so I guess those are the things we want to make sure will happen,” said YFL President Mike Atayde.

The U7, U9, U11, and U13 competitions will kick off on March 31, while the U15 and U17 divisions will begin festivities on April 7. The matches shall eventually be held at the Manila Jockey Club pitches in Carmona, Cavite on a later date.

The YFL recently concluded their one-day football festival last March 10 as a prelude to the league proper.

The upcoming tournament is only the first of many keystone events for the 2019 calendar season.

The YFL will also hold its YFL Cup, simultaneous regional tournaments in nine areas around the country, an invitational tournament, and a national championship to conclude the year.
