Surf champion survives shark attack

Australian surf champion Mick Fanning sure is lucky after surviving a shark attack in the finals of the World Surf League's J-Bay Open in South Africa over the weekend.
Fanning, the defending champion and competing against fellow Australian Julian Wilson fortunately escaped the attack unharmed.

"I was just sitting there and I felt something just get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get away," Fanning said. "I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth to come at me. I punched it in the back."
Despite a real-life Jaws moment, the three-time world champion lived to compete another day.
