"Its good therapy eh, its something to clear your mind off things." - Matteo Guidicelli's take on sports.
Matteo Guidicelli has always been into sports, now with his recent exploits in the world of triathlon, he credits his father for inspiring him to get into the field.
Speaking to ABS-CBN Sports after his latest Kapamilya chat session, Guidicelli said that it was all influenced by his old man.
"I've been into sports since 11 years old then now triathlon, I guess it was all influenced by my father," Guidicelli said. "He was overweight before but now he started losing weight and getting healthy. He's addicted to the triathlon lifestyle now and so am I."
The 25-year-old actor competed in the recent Ironman 70.3 race in Cebu where he revealed it was his "worst race" because of injury and lack of preparation.
However, he never takes his mind off the ultimate goal, which is to break the five-hour barrier in the Ironman race.
"I was 5 [hours] and 16 [minutes] this year so sana next year," he said.
The Fil-Italian actor also said that he's been trying to get his girlfriend Sarah Geronimo into the active lifestyle.
"Wala pa [on Sarah joining him to a race] busy siya ngayon eh but I try to encourage her to the healthy lifestyle. She's starting to bevery active now and she's doing sports. Its good therapy eh, its something to clear your mind off things."
