A golden welcome for the silver medalist.
Hidilyn Diaz's heroic journey at the 2016 Olympics will get a fitting end.
After breaking the 20-year Olympic medal drought for the Philippines, the 25-year old weightlifter from Zamboanga is set to come home after conquering in Rio de Janeiro.
Diaz is estimated to arrive in Manila today, at 4:20 p.m. where a press conference will take place.
She will again take off at around 7:40 p.m. for Davao where a courtesy call to meet a proud Philippine President and fellow Mindanaoan, Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled at 9:30 p.m.
And that's just her first day back.
Diaz will finally go back home to Zamboanga on Friday, where another hero's welcome will surely take place.
The final leg of her hero's homecoming is set on August 27, where she is scheduled to visit Malacanang.
Her Olympic journey will be punctuated by a motorcade, so if you're on the trail, don't forget to paint the town gold for the Filipina weightlifter.
