Tabuena cards 2-over 73 in Rio Olympics opening round

Golfer Miguel Tabuena closed the first round in a nine-way tie at no. 41.
RIO DE JANEIRO --- Filipino golfer Miguel Tabuena finished the first round of the competition at 2-over 73 early Friday (Manila time) at the Olympic Golf Course here.
The 21-year-old golfer closed the round at No. 42, trailing round leader Marcus Fraser of Australia by 10 shots.
Tabuena had a good start in the front nine, scoring a 2-under after the first nine holes for a seven–way tie at no. 9 just 4 shots off the Fraser.
However, the Filipino struggled in the back nine with five bogeys, three pars and a birdie on the 14th hole.
Round 2 of the four-round event starts on Friday at 8:30 p.m. (Manila time).
