Cray falls short in Rio Olympics 400-meter hurdles semis

Filipino bet Eric Cray was eliminated in the 400m. hurdles semifinals with a 7th place finish in his heat.
RIO DE JANEIRO --- Fil-American Eric Cray fell short in the men’s 400m hurdles semifinals Wednesday finishing clocking at 49.37 seconds for 7th place in Heat 1 of his event at the Nilton Santos Stadium here.
Cray was second to the last in his run and much slower than his preliminary round time of 49.05 seconds Monday noon where he finished third in Heat 4 and far behind his best time of 48.96.
The 27-year-old fastest man in Southeast Asia started out strong in Lane 7 but faded down the turn.
American Kerron Clement topped the heat with 48.26 seconds to qualify in the final with Kenyan Boniface Mucheru Tumuti (28.85).
