SUBIC BAY --- Sure, the Alaska Ironkids is where young triathletes compete, setting up a solid foundation for future stars of the sport.

However, not everyone that raced at the Remy Field here over the weekend, raced to win.

Some, like 4-year-old, Athena Bagas raced for fun.

The adorable young triathlete raced with her seven-year-old brother Aldan. The duo were one of the last to finish the course early Saturday morning.

But with so much cuteness, everyone present to witness them cross the finish line, were the actual winners. Of course, they are winners too.

According to mother Dianne, who is actually an ultra marathoner herself, her kids getting into this sport made actual sense.

"Passion nila mag-swimming, ako naman ultra marathoner," she said. "So since ultra marathoner ako, na-encourage sila."

"Not for competition but for recreation since my purpose is for healthy living," Bagas said.

"Healthy lifestyle since family kami ng diabetic. It's good to raise my children in [a] healthy way kasi both sides may health issues," she added.
