Seventeen-year-old Philippine alpine skiing bet Asa Miller capped off his Winter Olympic debut with a 70th-place finish out of the original 110 racers in the men's giant slalom of the Pyeongchang games in South Korea.
The Filipino-American out of Portland, Oregon finished his second run in 1:22.43 after completing the first course in 1:27.52 for a combined time of 2:49.95, trailing the pacer and gold-medalist Marcel Hirscher of Austria by 31.91 seconds.
Miller headed into Run 2 as the 81st ranked racer out of the 85 who finished, but his improved time in the final round fell short.
Miller's finish signals the end of the Philippine contingent's stint in South Korea, after figure skater Michael Martinez's 28th-place finish last Friday.
