PHI alpine skiing bet Asa Miller places 81st after first run

The Philippines' alpine skiing bet Asa Miller recovered from an early slip to finish 81st place among 110 racers at the end of the first men's giant slalom run of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea Sunday morning.
Miller, 17, finished his first run with a time of 1:27.52, trailing 19.25 seconds behind preliminary leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria.
Hirscher, 28, paced the competition after the first leg, completing the course in 1:08.27.
French racer Alexis Pinturault placed second with 1:08.90, while Norway's Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen rounded out the initial podium with a time of 1:08.93.
85 racers out of the 110 were able to complete the course.
Miller, a first-time Olympian will have a chance to put on a better time in the second run later this afternoon at 12:45 PM (Manila time).
