Filipina Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Meggie Ochoa added another medal to her collection as she took home silver in the 2018 Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The 12-day event saw Ochoa as the lone medalist for the ten-person Philippine contingent.
Fresh off claiming gold in Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tournament in London just last month, the 28-year old Ochoa, Purple Belt out of the ATOS camp, finished second overall in the seven-woman 49-kilogram Purple Belt Gi Bracket.
Ochoa submitted Shouq Aldhanhani of Abu Dhabi to advance to the semifinal round, where she outscored Sweden’s Neda Khezerian to reach the finals.
In the gold medal match, Ochoa fell to Brazil’s Brenda Larissa via submission.
