Max’s Group forges partnership with POC for 2020 Olympics

Max's Group Inc. and the Philippine Olympic Committee forged a partnership for the country's campaign in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Filipino athletes hoping to represent the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics got a huge shot in the arm after the Philippine Olympic Committee inked a partnership with Max’s Group, Inc. (MGI).
MGI, the flagbearer of Filipino cuisine both in local and international scene, is investing a total of P10.5 million as support to Team Philippines’ cause in the quadrennial meet set to begin July next year.
“Together with POC we will make sure that our hardworking athletes will have the backing that they need,” said MGI president and chief executive officer Robert Trota on Thursday during the formal partnership launch at Max’s Kabisera in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
The investment is projected to help the athletes including 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, Southeast Asian Games triathlon gold medalist Nikko Huelgas and Melbourne Cup Gymnastics winner Carlos Yulo as well as coaches and officials. The seed fund will also cover the POC operations, catering for POC-related events.
MGI will also grant a P3 million incentive for athletes who will bring home gold medals.
“I’m happy that we forged a partnership with this Filipino institution,” said POC president Ricky Vargas. “What’s different with the Max’s Group Inc., is they are committed from end to end. They will support the athletes, the athletes’ journey and their families.”
The campaign #AllInForGold will have MGI brands such as Max’s Restaurant, Max’s Corner Bakery, Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza, Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s and Sizzlin’ Steak roll out product innovations, food bundles and marketing campaigns unique to each brand, to help raise funds for the participating athletes.
MGI will also send three pairs of customers to Tokyo to watch and experience the 2020 Olympics.
