Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Olympian weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz has a little more extra time on her hands.
The 29-year old Rio Olympics silver medalist should be working on qualifying for the Summer Games right now, but with Olympic Qualifiers being postponed and the Tokyo 2020 games itself being pushed back to 2021, Diaz will have to wait a bit longer to be able to qualify.
Plus, with the quarantines and lockdowns in place all over the world, there really isn't anywhere for Diaz to go.
Diaz will be putting that free time to good use however, as she plans to conduct an online weightlifting seminar via Zoom to raise funds to aid in providing pandemic relief in the Philippines.
"I will be conducting an online weightlifting seminar via Zoom, I’m doing this to do my part as a Filipino and to share my passion, experiences, and knowledge in weightlifting," Diaz said on a post on her Instagram account.
To participate, one will need only to register and give a donation.
"In order to join, you need to donate, all of the proceeds will go towards pandemic relief in the Philippines," she continued.
