FIBA: Gilas dominates Congo to start Spain training camp

Gilas Pilipinas’ Spain training camp is off to a rousing start.

The Philippine national team smashed Congo in a practice game in Guadalajara, scoring a 102-80 victory in a update by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Wednesday.

Naturalized center Andray Blatche led the way with 25 points followed by forward Japth Aguilar with 22 points and guard Mark Barroca with 15.

Gilas is in Spain for about a over a week’s worth of camp in preparation for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

The national team will meet Ivory Coast in another practice game before playing Congo once again to start a mini tournament.

Gilas brought 11 players to Spain Andray Blatche, Japeth Aguilar, Mark Barroca, Beau Belga, Robert Bolick, Poy Erram, Paul Lee, Gabe Norwood, CJ Perez, Matthew Wright, and Kiefer Ravena.
