Gilas Pilipinas is finally near full force as the national team welcomed June Mar Fajardo, RR Pogoy, and Troy Rosario back in the lineup.
The trio wrapped up a grueling PBA playoffs schedule and rejoined the national team in practice Tuesday.
However, they still missed at least two weeks in practice, including a 10-day training camp in Spain, and will have some catching up to do.
Now, the PBA Finals trio will have to log in extra time in training.
“The rest of the guys are fluid with the system. The three guys just need some catching up to do,” head coach Yeng Guiao said.
“We’ll set aside 20-30 minutes just for the three to run the sets with the help of two others,” he added.
Fajardo, Pogoy, and Rosario should have no problems being back to Gilas.
They just have to figure out the adjustments made by the national team while the rest were in Spain where they played four games against Congo and Ivory Coast.
“They actually know most of the sets already but we made some adjustments from Spain and also based on the scouting report that we already have,” Coach Yeng said.
“It’s different from the patterns we were running before we went to Spain kasi hindi naman sila naka-sama. But the important thing is they’re here,” he added.
