Gilas Pilipinas is ready for action against Australia’s Adelaide 36ers.
As part of the national team’s final preparations for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, Gilas will take on the 36ers on two occassions this weekend.
The first one is this Friday and Gilas had a meaningful practice Thursday in anticipation of the game.
“I’m happy and satisfied with the way we’re moving,” said head coach Yeng Guiao.
“We’re going to the homestretch of our preparations. Medyo malalim na yung pina-practice natin,” he added.
Coach Yeng is also happy to reveal that June Mar Fajardo, Troy Rosario, and RR Pogoy have transitioned well back to Gilas after playing a grueling PBA Finals series.
With the trio back, the national team has been doubling down on the more crucial details in training.
“June Mar, Troy, and Pogs are more or less integrated into our system already,” Guiao said.
“We’re running our defenses already. We’ve seen the scouting reports so we’re going towards devising our schemes defensively,” he added.
